“When I hear the name Wendy Schollum, I think of a person with strong determination, a huge enthusiasm and passion for her work, and the real ability to get things done. I have known Wendy and Shane for 8 years and in that time they have been fully involved, active and caring parents in our school and the wider community. The thing about Wendy is there is so much more that she does behind the scenes that many don't get to see. 

Wendy is adamant that our young Heretaunga tamariki need the right opportunities to contribute and to grow. She truly values their voice and empowers them to develop into the future leaders of our region. Her work in mentoring the Hastings District Youth Council, and leadership of the HDC Youth Strategy are clear examples of her commitment to the positive future of Hastings. I have found that nothing is ever too much trouble for Wendy and she will always work towards a positive solution and outcome to support others. 

I have seen first-hand the work Wendy has done in linking the education and health sectors to ensure that whānau receive the high level of support they deserve in the Mahora area with the recent housing development. She has worked tirelessly to ensure families have had appropriate wrap-around support to ensure their future success. 

Wendy can be very proud of the success she has achieved to date. I fully endorse her re-election based on her proven track record and her can-do attitude. I strongly encourage you to support Wendy. She cares, she does the mahi, and she achieves great things for all in Heretaunga.
